CCFL Backlight Installation Guide for Laptop Screen

Replacing the CCFL backlight lamp on LCD screen is a lot more difficult then replacing an inverter. This is a very delicate operation. Please take sometime to review our instructions before you proceed.

*CCFL is an extremely small Fluorescent lamp and you must handle them with extra caution.

Tools: 25-45 Watt Soldering Iron Solder Paste Wire Cutter Small Philips Screw Driver Small Flat Head Screw Driver Tweezer A Blade Glove
Thing you need to know before proceeds: Do not stretch or pull any Row and Column Driver (TAB), Damaged TAB will cause problems like, Vertical line, Horizontal line or White Screen.

Remove Tape that covers between metal frame and back assembly. Such as Aluminum foil, Copper foil and masking tape etc… You can re-use them or use our repair kit to replace it.

Remove screws on each side of panel

Place the panel face down. Hold on glass and lift it up and flick over as shown on next photo.

To remove CCFL Assembly, First remove screws on each end of assembly( Note: some panels may not have screws) Please use a blade to slice from right to left to separate CCFL assembly and plastic frame as shown on photo. (There is a double side tape between CCFL assembly and plastic frame on almost all panels)

Pull out CCFL assembly by holding on CCFL reflector or wires.

Remove CCFL as shown photo.

Replace new CCFL as shown photo and re-mount CCFL Assembly back as shown on next photo.

By re-mounting CCFL assembly back, in most of case, you may notice that the CCFL assembly is not all the way in. Another word, it is not 100% fit in plastic assembly; this will cause certain section of screen darker than other sections.
